Council approves water budget adjustments and Water Trust Board grant for 2-million-gallon tank (WPF-6576)

Boone said the project includes a storage tank, 12-, 10- and 8-inch water lines and two pressure-reducing valves to improve water pressure for the area. Councilor Ron Molina moved approval and the motion carried on a unanimous roll call.
Deputy Chief Financial Officer Jacqueline Leyba presented Resolution R2026-11 for Water Trust Board Project No. WPF-6576 (NGWSP Reach 27.12). Leyba described the project scope as waterline construction, a two-million-gallon storage tank and two pressure-reducing valve stations as part of the Navajo Gallup Water Supply Project transmission and distribution work. Councilor Sierra Yazzie moved approval of the resolution, Councilor Molina seconded, and the Council voted unanimously to adopt R2026-11.
Council discussion during both items referenced the City's cost cap for the NGWSP, tank siting and the expected benefit to the South Fork/Boardman area. The approvals position the City to receive reimbursement and proceed with final design and construction for the described infrastructure projects.
