County bridge repairs, Bohemian Hwy retrofit planning and land-acquisition talks advance for Monte Rio area

Administrator Marina McTaggart told the board that the county scheduled repairs for the Main Street Bridge to begin on Aug. 12 and that the county is in the process of onboarding a consultant to address a retrofit of the Bohemian Highway (Monte Rio) bridge. Public outreach coordination for the Bohemian Hwy/Monte Rio bridge retrofit is expected to begin in early 2025.
Separately, Marina said staff will continue communications with Ag + Open Space, Sonoma Land Trust and Regional Parks regarding trails projects and the SWS/Starrett Hill acquisition; Sonoma Land Trust has expressed interest in making a presentation to the board and staff may consider a special closed session meeting to discuss acquisition coordination.
