Facilities & Safety Committee outlines roof, doors, cameras and other maintenance needs

The Facilities & Safety Committee reported bids will be solicited to replace the remainder of the Community Center roof, Amphitheater Youth Center doors need replacement, restroom cameras were added and additional maintenance steps (plumbing, storage, dumpster for Labor Day) were recommended.
At the Aug. 7 Facilities & Safety Committee meeting, Park Supervisor Leslie Hofelich and consultants from Praxis reported multiple facilities and maintenance tasks requiring follow-up. The district plans to solicit bids to replace the second half of the Community Center roof (the portion not replaced during solar-panel work), obtain estimates for replacing doors at the Amphitheater Youth Center (Empowerment Center), and address minor plumbing issues at Lightwave Café; Hardware Tech Inc. will inspect interior pulls on restroom doors.
The committee also reported installation of additional cameras at the Community Center outside restrooms to deter misuse, suggested obtaining a 20-yard dumpster for Labor Day weekend to handle anticipated trash, and noted the new gym lights were installed with financial assistance from the Monte Rio Fire Foundation. Staff will procure estimates and return with cost details at a future meeting.
