Principals and instructional coach report enrollment, assessment and athletics updates

District instructional coach Katie Mullins and principals reported on academic programs, assessments and athletics at the Sept. 15 Bartlett I.S.D. board meeting.
Mullins said the district is using Texas Instructional Leadership coaching, new highly qualified instructional materials (Bluebonnet Reading and Bluebonnet Math), twice-monthly PLC meetings, and data meetings every six weeks to refine Top Dog intervention placements; she added the district’s Emergent Bilingual group surpassed state averages in reading, science and social studies. Elementary Principal Lacey Cruddas reported Pre-K–5 enrollment of 187 and August ADA of 96.33%; secondary Principal Dr. Bryan Hernandez reported grades 6–12 enrollment of 213 and August ADA of 95.02%, noted upcoming TSI testing and college visits, and said the district's secure protocol during a recent community incident went well.
Athletic Director Mike Bickham said the district launched its athletic fundraiser, outlined scheduling during a realignment year and requested that coaches obtain commercial driver licenses (CDLs); he also said upgrades to non-construction facilities (for example, wrapping doors) are underway to improve school pride. These presentations were informational; no substantive policy changes were recorded in the minutes.
