Superintendent Theodore Clevenger told trustees the district is preparing to respond to new state-level requirements affecting school buses. "Because of a new bill, all buses will have to have seatbelts," he said, and noted that while new buses are compliant, the requirement will affect the district's existing fleet.
Clevenger also provided a facilities update: flooring, lighting and painting are complete in the new cafeteria, booth seats are expected this week, kitchen appliances remain outstanding, gym paint touch-ups are pending, trophy case mill work will be installed and epoxy floors were added in bathrooms. The superintendent said punch lists for the cafeteria, gym and field house are near completion and scheduled a long-range facility meeting for the following evening.
