Traffic-calming plan to add three permanent and one mobile radar sign; "Do not pass" golf-cart option discussed

District Engineer Charlie Krebs reviewed the draft Traffic Calming Assessment 2025, summarizing Tier 1 and Tier 2 strategies and early education-based steps the district has taken for road, bike and golf-cart safety. Mr. Conway has begun initial education work and Krebs told the Board that "Three permanent and one mobile speed radar signs will be delivered throughout the property the first week in February." He added that recorded speeding violations have decreased since initial measures were taken.
Board members asked Krebs to update Page 9 of the Assessment to include the Traffic Study’s conclusion and to advise the Board of any areas needing further consideration. The Board discussed notifying residents about mandates and adding "Do not pass golf cart" signs at the front entrance and crosswalks; Pelican Sound’s Board is also reviewing its violation-bylaw language. No formal rule changes were adopted at the meeting; the item remains an ongoing safety and education initiative.
