Oak Run residents urge Seaside-style regrading after Lake 8 flooding damages homes

District Engineer Charlie Krebs reviewed the scope of work performed at Seaside and said the area was never re‑graded; he told the Board he believes the Lake 8 issues could be addressed by completing work similar to Seaside 1 and Seaside 2. Chair Bob Schultz said the matter will be considered during the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 budget process.
The exchange tied the resident complaint to near‑term planning: the engineer will obtain costs for regrading or replanting work and next year’s budget will reflect any project the Board chooses to fund. The Board did not take an immediate action or direct staff to start construction at this meeting; next steps are limited to budgeting and cost estimates.
