At the Goal 2 leadership report, Dennis Jurek, Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations, told trustees that "ESSER funds [are] no longer being available in the budget so percentages of expenditures will look higher this year than last" and noted that the additional revenue from the 2023 VATRE has been allocated to payroll. He added that recent HVAC replacements and repairs have reduced ongoing maintenance costs.
Jurek’s remarks were intended to explain year‑over‑year percentage changes in district expenditures and to preview how staffing and maintenance line items will appear in the next budget cycle. No budget amendment was voted at the agenda review; budget amendments and donations were listed for action at the regular meeting consent agenda.
