At a special meeting July 10, 2025, the Angleton Independent School District Board of Education postponed consideration of a Level 3 grievance appeal filed by parent Katherine Winans.
Justin Journeay moved to postpone the appeal and Michael Sillavan seconded the motion; the motion "carried unanimously." The board conducted this action after returning from a closed executive session and did not announce a new date for taking up the grievance.
The grievance was listed on the agenda as an action item following a closed session convened under the Texas Open Meetings Act. The minutes identify Winans as a parent to a student; no public comments were made during the open session portion of the meeting. The board adjourned at 5:41 PM after taking the postponement vote.
