Student board member Grant Walling presented a report offering a student perspective on learning and culture. Superintendent Dr. Nicole Poenitzsch described professional development activities under the "Brahmas Lead" and "Brahmas Learn" series and noted a recent retirement that created a geometry-teacher vacancy and a current vacancy for a Payroll Coordinator.
Dr. Poenitzsch told the board the district’s enrollment is 2,313, up from 2,284 the previous year, and reminded trustees of upcoming attendance at the TASA/TASB TxEd Conference in San Antonio Sept. 26–29. Board member Kenneth Stein asked to see Ms. Jone’s Teaching & Learning newsletter for additional classroom-level detail.
