The Bennet City Council approved its consent agenda during the Feb. 9, 2026 regular meeting, adopting minutes, claims and the treasurer’s report by roll-call vote. Mayor Ryan Cheney signed a revised United States Postal Service lease that had been amended to an initial five-year term and was previously approved by Resolution 2026-1.2.
Utility Superintendent Zach Fergus presented the five bids received for the proposed Maintenance Building: Sterup Construction LLC, $90,000.00; Vasa Construction, $122,279.00; Morton Buildings, $124,218.00; Ebbers Construction, $125,526.01; and Elevate Construction LLC, $129,722.04. Councilmember Dan Zieg moved and Councilmember Jesse Schmidt seconded a motion to award the bid to Sterup Construction LLC pending provision of engineered drawings; the motion passed on a roll-call vote: YES — Schmidt, Simmons, Zieg, Buck. The award is conditioned on Sterup submitting the requested engineered drawings before contract finalization.
The approval of routine consent items, the lease signature, and the bid award were recorded in the minutes as carried by unanimous roll call. No dissenting votes were recorded.
