Bennet council will serve as Board of Adjustment after membership removed
Summary
The Bennet City Council approved a resolution removing current Board of Adjustment members and adopted by-laws so the council will serve as the Board of Adjustment; both actions passed unanimously at the Nov. 10 meeting.
Mayor Ryan Cheney presented RESOLUTION 2025-11.5 to remove the current members of the Board of Adjustment after the city amended its municipal code to allow the City Council to preside in that role. Councilmember Dan Zieg moved to approve the resolution and Jesse Schmidt seconded; roll call votes recorded yes from Zieg, Schmidt, Simmons and Buck and the motion carried.
The council then reviewed and adopted Board of Adjustment by-laws that will apply while the council serves in that capacity. The by-laws were approved on a roll call vote with the same four yes votes. Council members did not record dissent during the discussion and no implementation timeline for hearing entitlements under the new arrangement was specified in the meeting minutes.
