Dr. Kaivan Yuen provided a brief overview of the state resolutions adopted by the California Assembly and Senate; Dr. Mark Skvama presented framed copies to each board member. "The month of January 2026 has been declared by the California Legislature as 'School Board Recognition Month'" the agenda text states. Carlos Cerdan moved the resolution, Jennifer Gutierrez seconded, and President Liliana Magana called for a roll call vote; all members present voted "Aye." A copy of Resolution No. 12(2025-2026) was filed with the official minutes.
