The Montebello Unified School District Board voted to expel Student #150295 for one year, effective Dec. 3, 2025 through Dec. 3, 2026, after staff recommended expulsion under Education Code section 48915(c)(1) for unlawful possession of a firearm on school grounds.
The Board approved a stipulated expulsion agreement in closed session (motion by President Liliana Magana, seconded by Carlos Cerdan; motion passed 5-0) and then implemented the expulsion as part of the consent agenda. The minutes list the required rehabilitation plan for readmission: (1) placement in an educational program operated by Los Angeles County Office of Education outside the District with at least 90% attendance; (2) maintain a cumulative GPA of C (2.0) or better; (3) comply with all school rules and stay off District property during the expulsion period; (4) participate in counseling including anger-management as appropriate; and (5) remain under close supervision of parent(s) or guardian(s) with regular communication with school officials.
