Board approves budget adjustments and designates committed fund balance under GASB 54

The Montebello Unified Board voted to approve budget adjustments covering July 1 through Oct. 31, 2025, and adopted Resolution No. 8(2025-2026) designating portions of the general fund ending balance as "committed" under GASB Statement No. 54.
CFO Donald Ellingson summarized the required statutory process (Education Code sections 42600–42610) and explained that adjustments are necessary to reflect changes in revenue, expenditures, transfers and ending-balance classifications. Clerk Elizabeth Cabrera moved adoption of Resolution No. 8 and board members voted unanimously to adopt the resolution and the associated budget adjustments.
The actions align the district's fund-balance classifications with Board Policy 3100 and identify specific uses for committed funds; the resolution and adjustment summaries are attached to the official meeting minutes.
