The Board approved a service agreement with East Los Angeles College (ELAC) to apply for a civic center permit and use Weingart Stadium for Montebello Unified's 2026 high-school graduations for Montebello High, Bell Gardens High and Schurr High, scheduled June 2–4, 2026. The minutes list an approximate total not-to-exceed ELAC fee of $59,082.00 to be split among the three high schools, with an approximate share of $19,694.00 per school.
In the same section the Board approved two overnight/out-of-state field trips for Schurr High School students: a trip for 14 students to the HBCU Holiday Jam Tournament (Dec. 19–23, 2025) with travel by parents/guardians, and a trip for nine students to the Dave Kops Tournament of Champions in Bullhead City, AZ (March 5–7, 2026) with district buses providing transportation.
The graduation venue agreement was approved as a consent-item motion and will be filed in the Procurement Office; the minutes note that final costs will depend on attendance and other factors. The prom venue contract for Montebello High School (approval recorded on the consent agenda) lists PD Special Events, Inc. at Union Station for May 9, 2026, with a minimum amount shown in the packet (the minutes contain a typographic inconsistency in that line; the procurement file should be consulted for the final contract amount).
