Fort Lee Planning Board elects Cooney chair, Pohan vice chair in reorganization meeting

The Fort Lee Planning Board held its annual reorganization meeting Jan. 12 and elected its leadership for 2026. Armand Pohan moved to elect Janet Cooney as chairwoman; Robert Ferris seconded the motion, which passed with seven board members saying "aye" and Cooney abstaining. "Let the minutes reflect that adequate notice of this meeting has been provided," Vice Chairwoman Cooney said at the meeting's start.
The board then elected Armand Pohan as vice chairman and Byong Suh as secretary by voice vote. The votes were taken as routine reorganization business after the board attorney confirmed members had been sworn prior to this portion of the meeting. The seating arrangement for voting was recorded for the year and includes alternates Gerald Calabrese III and Michael Sargenti to vote if seated.
