Board approves four new hires for 2024–25 school year

The Big Spring ISD Board of Trustees approved employment recommendations for the 2024–2025 school year at its Oct. 14 meeting. The board approved hiring Bonnie Brink as a secondary teacher at the junior high (certified, five years' experience); Eli Cobos as a secondary teacher at the junior high (non‑certified, 0 years' experience); Brenda De La Cerda Leija as an elementary teacher at Marcy Elementary (non‑certified, 0 years' experience); and Michelle Lucero as an elementary teacher at Moss Elementary (non‑certified, 0 years' experience).
Tonya Becker moved to approve the employment recommendations and Tom Olague seconded. The motion (Motion #6072) carried 5-0. The minutes list the positions and experience levels as presented to the board.
