Brenham ISD honors MCJROTC national champions, band winterguard and district athletic qualifiers

At its May 18 meeting, Brenham ISD trustees recognized MCJROTC national champions, a state‑champion band winterguard, district athletic qualifiers and participants in 'It Pays to Ride' and 'Cubs 2 Read' programs.
Board members used the May 18 meeting to highlight student and team achievements across academics, arts and athletics. MCJROTC Captain Jeffrey Bayse introduced Brenham High School's MCJROTC National Champions. Band Director Joshua Turnipseed recognized the State Champion band winterguard participants, and golf coaches Earl Hathaway and Tara Felder introduced the boys and girls golf qualifiers for state competition.
Athletic Director Danny Youngs and Track Coach Jeffrey Toliver (joined by Demetri Williams) recognized boys and girls track qualifiers advancing to regional and state competition. Director of Transportation Brian Gibson presented "It Pays to Ride" certificates, and Elementary Curriculum Coordinator Kristie Sternadel introduced participants in the Cubs 2 Read literacy program. Trustees acknowledged the students and staff for their accomplishments; no formal board action was required for recognitions.
