The board approved a revision to Policy DNA (LOCAL) to ensure compliance with the State of Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA). Trustee Kevin Dauster moved to "approve the revision to Policy DNA (LOCAL) to remove the option to waive annual teacher appraisals or place teachers on a multi-year rotation, in order to maintain compliance with the requirement of the Teacher Incentive Allotment." The motion was seconded by Lonnie Murphy and passed 5-0 with two trustees absent.
The policy change removes local options that would allow the district to waive annual appraisals or use multi-year appraisal rotations for teachers, aligning district practice with TIA eligibility rules. The board recorded the motion and the vote in the official minutes.
