Brenham ISD staff outline Teacher Incentive Allotment timelines; say program is growth-based not achievement-based

District staff outlined progress and deadlines for the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) application and data capture.

A district presenter explained TIA focuses on student growth rather than raw achievement and that the district will submit data in October 2026 and expect scoring results in February 2027. "October 2026 is when we actually submit our data to see if we will pass," the presenter said; checks would arrive if the district meets criteria, with staff expecting payments in August 2027 if the district clears the approval steps.

Staff also described the local planning and workload for TIA: principals, evaluators and teachers must prepare assessments and documentation, and the district is working with Region 6 on validation. The presenter said some campuses could be eligible for sizable five-year allotments if performance thresholds are met; the staff example discussed a figure of "$1,518,000 dollars for 5 year, every year for 5 years," which staff framed as an illustrative estimation of potential recurring TIA funding per qualifying campus over multiple years.

Trustees asked whether TIA would disadvantage teachers serving students with higher needs; staff replied that growth measures and inclusion supports are part of the model and that inclusion teachers can be eligible as well.
