Bridge City ISD board calls trustee election, sets potential canvass date

Trustees reviewed statutory timing considerations and Education Code guidance for joint elections. The minutes state: "According to Education Code Section 11.0581, school districts must hold elections for trustees jointly either with (1) a municipality located in the school district (May uniform election date) or with those political subdivisions holding the general election for state and county office (November uniform election date)." The board also approved the Orange County Elections Administration Joint Election Agreement Services Contract (motion by Paul Zoch, seconded by Jerry Mclnnis). The board set Wednesday, May 14, 2025, as the date to canvass May election returns if there are no outstanding mail or provisional ballots.
