Trustees sworn in; BISD honors students and teachers for state-level achievements
Summary
Judge Jeff Monk administered the Oath of Office to trustees Shawn Minor and Michael Ancy. The board also recognized student achievements in band, powerlifting, SkillsUSA and NASP archery and named campus Teachers of the Year.

The board also used part of the meeting to recognize student and staff accomplishments: the Centennial Spartan Regiment placed 5th at the WGI Percussion World Championships; Burleson High School and Centennial High School athletes placed at the state powerlifting meet; the Burleson High School AV Quiz Bowl team placed 2nd at the state SkillsUSA competition; NASP All-State archers were announced; and Ashley Arnold and Kristina Shawky were named Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year for 2024–2025 at their respective campuses.
