Council notified of planned latecomer fees for Guide Meridian sewer extension; preliminary notices due end of January

The Public Works Department advised the City Council of its intent to assess latecomer fees to properties that can benefit from the Guide Meridian sewer extension completed in 2024. The assessment area runs on both sides of Guide Meridian from Front Street north to approximately 8334 Guide Meridian, and fees will be based on property square footage.
Staff said a preliminary notice of assessment will be sent by the end of January and that affected property owners may request a public hearing. The Public Works Committee reviewed the proposal on Jan. 8 and recommended the Council proceed with the assessment notice.
