Sarah Bohart, the district’s chief academic officer, presented a proposal to purchase HMH social‑studies instructional materials for grades 6–12 as a three‑year supplemental package while the State Board of Education’s proclamation process continues toward 2030.
Bohart said the package would provide a textbook and digital license for each secondary classroom and would be paid for from TEA's Instructional Materials and Technology allotment. "So we're asking the board to honor the 3 year quote for $73,105," she said. Trustee Justin Collie moved to approve the purchase and Bonnie Breitmeyer seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote.
The materials are intended as supplemental resources to align with TEKS and local TEKS‑resource systems; Bohart said elementary classes will continue using existing supplemental materials.
