Trustees debate extracurricular stipends and extra pay for football assistants

Anzualda raised a concern about the stipend for the 'lariette' sponsor and proposed increasing junior-high sponsor pay to $3,500 for two positions and high-school sponsor pay to at least $4,000 for two positions.
Trustee David C. Salinas highlighted a disparity in days worked between volleyball and football assistants and "proposed paying the additional 5 days at their regular rate." Trustees calculated the total budget increase with the recommended adjustments at $10,500 and asked staff to include these figures in the written recommendation to be considered at the regular meeting. Trustee Jessica M. Quintanilla later advised postponing changes to sponsor stipends until the program had progressed.
