The Blue Ridge ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously July 21 to adopt the Order Authorizing the Issuance of the Unlimited Tax School Building Bonds, Series 2025 following presentation of the bond sale results. The motion was made by Gary Lillard and seconded by Kevin Dauster and passed 7–0.
Board members emphasized that the bond proceeds will fund capital projects approved by voters during the bond campaign. “I move to approve the Bond Sales Result and Adopt the Order Authorizing the Issuance of the Unlimited Tax School Building Bonds, Series 2025,” the motion text recorded in the minutes states; the vote tally was Yea: 7, Nay: 0. The board chair, John Gaulden, had opened the meeting and announced the action after the closed-session reconvening.
The board subsequently approved several specific uses of bond funds later in the meeting, including authorization to replace HVAC units at district facilities. District administrators indicated the HVAC replacements will be paid from bond proceeds; the board’s approval was recorded as a separate motion later in the agenda.
The board did not record dissent or abstentions on the bond authorization. Next procedural steps include administrative execution of the bond order and expenditure planning consistent with the bond program’s scope and voter-approved propositions.
