Selma swears in new fire chief and pins two captains

Brandon Morley, addressing council and community members, said he was prepared to lead the department and to focus on training and community engagement. "I'm truly humbled and blessed to be appointed in this position," he said, pledging to provide transparency and support to firefighters so they can serve the public safely and professionally. Council members and staff also recognized the promotions of Justin Godwin (captain, A shift, Engine 11) and Walter Miller (captain, B shift, Engine 11), noting each had served as interim captains and trained new firefighters. The council took no formal vote recorded on the ceremonial promotions during the meeting.
