County authorizes new ballot equipment purchases, pollbook contract modification and training travel

The board authorized purchase of four additional sorting pockets for the county’s ballot sorter at a cost of $36,750 and approved a three‑year modification with KnowInk, LLC to provide new pollbooks and printers at a cost of $26,656 for 2026 and $38,756.20 for each of 2027 and 2028. The commissioners also approved purchase of 70 replacement ballot boxes from Liberty Vote Inc. for $89,000. Attendance for election staff at regional and state election personnel meetings was approved as presented. All motions passed unanimously.
County officials said the purchases are intended to support upcoming elections and address equipment needs; final procurement documents will be executed as required.
