Board approves consent agenda; trustee questions central office change order before passage

Canutillo ISD’s Board approved the consent agenda March 4, including approval of January 29 minutes, the January donations report, January budget amendments, an affiliation agreement with the University of Texas at El Paso School of Nursing, and a sponsorship agreement with Superior HealthPlan. The consent motion passed with the exception of item 6.A.5, which trustees discussed separately.
Trustee Martinez asked for clarification on Change Order #1 tied to the Central Office remediation/location project; Dr. Oscar Rico explained the design changes and noted a TexDOT schedule change that required adjustments. After the explanation, Trustee Martinez moved to approve item 6.A.5 with a second from Mrs. Zuniga and the board approved the item unanimously.
