Bryan ISD spotlights custodial employee and celebrates multiple fine-arts distinctions

The board recognized Mr. Clifton Benford, a 15-year lead custodian at SFA Middle School, as the July Auxiliary Employee of the Month for supervising ten custodial staff and helping maintain campus facilities and district venues.
Director of Fine Arts Pat Corbett announced Bryan ISD earned multiple honors: the NAMM Foundation 'Best Communities for Music Education' award (the district’s fourth consecutive year), the Texas Art Educators Association District of Distinction (five years), and the Texas Educational Theatre Association Award of Distinction for Sam Rayburn Intermediate and the district. Corbett said these awards "are a testament to how Art can change students and enable them to see the world in new ways."
Superintendent Ginger Carrabine also updated trustees on community events, including a back-to-school BISD Community Pep Rally, Convocation TED Talks, successful bus routing from the Ruby Halliburton Complex, and a sold-out Hometown Reunion concert headlined by John Michael Montgomery. The district thanked the Education Foundation for supporting the event.
