Property owner seeks private-driveway exception for Allegheny Township parcel

Rick McNany, a property owner in Allegheny Township, presented a pre-application to the Butler County Planning Commission seeking consensus to obtain a modification to the county standard that limits private driveways to serving a maximum of four lots at Parcel 020-1F45-25. McNany said he would create one additional lot under the proposal and told the commission he is "willing to place an easement across the property to the south that he owns with his wife." The commission heard the pre-application during the public comment portion of the Feb. 18 meeting.

Planning staff did not record a formal decision at the meeting; the pre-application was presented for feedback and to establish whether the commission would support a modification. The discussion centered on access and whether an easement might mitigate concerns tied to the private-driveway limit; staff and commissioners asked that any formal modification request include the parcel identification and documentation required by the county’s subdivision and land development review process.
