Canutillo ISD rejects current bids for Strahan Road property, directs restart of sale process

Canutillo ISD trustees voted on Jan. 29 to reject all current bids for the district-owned property on Strahan Road and to direct administration to restart the solicitation process.
Following a closed executive session in which legal and property-sale options were discussed, Trustee Barnes moved to reject the current bids and reissue the solicitation; the motion was seconded by Trustee Martinez and passed with five trustees in favor and one opposed (Barnes-Yes, Maldonado-No, Martinez-Yes, Ortega-Yes, Rodriguez-Yes). Trustee Zuniga had stepped out of the room and was recorded absent for that vote. The board did not identify a preferred bidder at the meeting and left further action to administration.
