Calallen ISD certifies unopposed trustees, approves order of cancellation for Nov. 5 election

The Calallen ISD Board certified the list of unopposed candidates for the Nov. 5, 2024 Board of Trustees election and approved an order of cancellation at the Sept. 9 meeting. Trustees certified Place 3 — Jerry Batek; Place 4 — Chelsea Schultz; and Place 7 — Royce Cameron as unopposed, and then approved canceling the election for those races. Edward Wells moved to certify the candidates; Heather Luckenbach seconded, and the board voted 7–0 in favor.
By certifying the candidates and approving the order of cancellation, the board avoids holding contested elections for those three seats. The minutes do not indicate any challenges or objections recorded during the certification and cancellation motions.
