Board approves closed‑session settlement in OAH case and reports action publicly

During closed session Feb. 18 the Board approved a compromise and release settlement in OAH Case No. 2025081076 by a 5‑0 vote; District counsel reported the action during the open‑session report out.
The Board convened in closed session at 7:05 p.m. under Government Code §54956.9 for conference with legal counsel on existing and anticipated litigation. At reconvening, District counsel Norma Copado reported that the Board approved a compromise and release settlement in OAH Case No. 2025081076 by a 5‑0 vote on a motion by Clerk Elizabeth Cabrera, seconded by Board Member Marisol Uribe.
Copado also reported the Board received a briefing on one anticipated litigation matter; no reportable final action was taken on that item and a second anticipated matter was not discussed. The minutes state information concerning the settled matter will be with Student Services.
