Montebello Unified board names district officers, authorizes signers for contracts and financial documents

The Montebello Unified School District Board designated key administrative officers for Dec. 19, 2025–Dec. 18, 2026, including Dr. Mark Skvama as Secretary to the Board and Interdistrict Agent to sign attendance contracts, and Donald G. Ellingson, Chief Financial Officer, to serve in the Superintendent's absence and as Assistant Secretary. Each designation was approved by roll-call vote of the four members present.
The Board authorized a signatory policy for contracts and legal documents: ordinary practice is that any two of the superintendent, assistant superintendents, or chief financial officer may sign; for contracts of $25,000 or less and not exceeding one year in duration, one signature is allowed. The board also authorized designated staff to sign warrants, salary orders, notices of employment and related financial reports, and noted that ordinary warrants will be signed using the facsimile signature of the Superintendent.
