CISD board approves re-establishing behavioral management class and hiring teachers

Superintendent Dr. Brian Morris told trustees the district had experienced situations that could have been managed within a behavioral management class and recommended reimplementing the program. After discussion, Trustee Matthew Mettauer moved and Trustee Allison Johnson seconded a motion to re-establish a behavioral management class; the motion carried 5–0.
Following that approval, Dr. Morris recommended hiring one, possibly two, qualified teachers for the behavioral management class because the district had identified student needs only after the start of the school year. Trustee Matthew Mettauer moved and Trustee Allison Johnson seconded a motion to hire qualified teachers for the class; that motion also carried 5–0. Trustee Casey Lout is recorded as having left the meeting prior to these votes.
