Amber Mathews told the council the district sent a teacher to Region 7 for Parenting and Paternity Awareness (P.A.P.A.) training on Jan. 31, 2024, but that teacher is no longer employed by the district. She said another training is scheduled for November 2024.
Mathews reminded members that "because Center High School offers a health class, this program must be taught," and that the 80th Legislatures HB 2176 mandates a parenting and paternity awareness program be used in high school health curriculum beginning with the 2008-09 school year.
