Superintendent Dr. Brian Morris updated trustees on facilities and district metrics. He invited board members to tour the new multi-purpose event center after the meeting and said contractors still expect the project to be completed by Sept. 20, 2024. He also said he had received photos of the new AG barn from Jesse Ruiz and that the air-conditioning system and pens will be installed the following week.
Dr. Morris reported district attendance at 94.68%, below the 95% attendance rate assumed in the budget, and said the district is working to locate seven no-shows. Enrollment as of Aug. 31, 2024 was 2,311 and had increased slightly in September. He also noted a custodial-services complaint and said Supervisor Cody Fontaine is addressing the issue.
