Student rep: phone-pouch policy and mentoring boosted participation, leaders say

Sadie Burgess, the board’s ex officio student representative, told trustees the school year has started positively and credited a new phone-pouch system with increased classroom participation. "I personally noticed a big difference in participation and engagement in classes," she said.
Burgess summarized recent student activities, including Spirit Week events, a homecoming parade and dance, peer mentoring training through Brilliant Pathways and college-exploration visits to SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Canton. She asked the board to continue supporting student opportunities and offered to work with student council members to provide future updates.
