An external financial presenter told the Boquet Valley CSD board that while the current 2026 budget was reasonably constructed, structural revenue declines and escalating expenses could create an unsustainable fiscal position by the early 2030s if the district takes no action. The presenter repeatedly urged rapid movement on a capital project and consolidation of elementary operations to reduce overhead and improve aid ratios.
“Failure to act immediately and over the next few years will make it more difficult to sustain the district's financial potency,” Dr. Timmons said, noting the cumulative loss of reorganization operating aid and the effect of rising health insurance and salary costs. He recommended a formal reserve plan and aggressive pursuit of building aid to avoid compounding losses.
