Chapel Hill ISD to offer technical dual credit cosmetology with Lamar State College Orange

Josh Culpepper, CTE Director, described a new technical dual credit program partnership with Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) that would allow participating students to earn college credit in cosmetology beginning with the Class of 2026.
Culpepper said CTE students do not need financial or testing prerequisites to enroll, that cosmetology teacher Mrs. Owens will serve as the embedded adjunct, and that applications have been submitted with retroactive admission for the fall semester contingent on board approval. The program is intended to strengthen College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) accountability measures for the district.
