Matt Strode presented the request and said the added coverage "would provide the district with financial protection in the event that a district vehicle is involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist," framing the change as a risk‑management step. The motion to approve the coverage was made by Trustee Hershal Massenburge and seconded by Trustee Fred Elder Jr.; the vote was recorded 7‑0.
Board discussion noted the incremental annual cost and the policy rationale of minimizing risk to district assets. The approval authorizes staff to bind the additional coverage under the district’s PCAT arrangement.
