Chapel Hill ISD board asks state to seek certification sanctions for three employees after alleged contract abandonment

The Chapel Hill Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Aug. 19 to direct Superintendent Lamond Dean to notify the State Board for Educator Certification that the board requests sanctions against the certificates of employees Amy Glenn, Lori Holt and Ronda Wylie.
In formal motions the board said it had considered the employees' resignation requests and related facts and found that the resignations did not meet the "good cause" standards in Texas Education Code Section 21.210. The board's recorded finding for Amy Glenn stated that she "was first absent from work without District permission on August 12, 2024," which the board identified as her effective separation date; similar findings for Lori Holt and Ronda Wylie cited Aug. 7, 2024 as their effective separation dates. Each motion passed 6–0. Board President Martin Ibarra declared the motions passed.
The actions direct the superintendent to submit the board's record and correspondence to the State Board for Educator Certification for its consideration. The board treated these items as final personnel discipline referrals after discussing personnel matters in executive session earlier in the evening. The motions were moved and seconded on the record and carried without dissent.
