Commission tables review of proposed CTR alternate CE course to allow departmental review

Commissioners discussed an alternate mandatory continuing-education course submitted by CTR and noted they had not seen course materials or a video to review. Department staff said any potential alternative to the approved mandatory course would need to come before the commission and that the commission had previously approved modified courses after the committee review process.

Commissioners expressed concern that law changes since the original course was created could make some course content outdated. One commissioner asked the department to review the course materials and suggested tabling the item until the next meeting or holding a special meeting if needed. A motion to table the CTR course review passed; the presenter offered to circulate a list of towns that had adopted anti-fraud measures and additional course materials to commissioners.
