Blair County approves consent agenda, advances bridge repair estimates funded largely from Marcellus Shale legacy fund

The Blair County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 6 approved a consent agenda that included ECMS estimate submissions for two bridge projects and the ratification of six warrants. The clerk said the bridge work is eligible for reimbursement from the Marcellus Shale legacy fund.
Clerk summarized the bridge items: for Bridge 33 (Old Mill Run) the county received estimate number 1 for $97,695.09 and estimate number 2 for $254,224.19 from CHND Enterprises; for Bridge 86 (Brush Run Bridal) the county received estimate number 1 for $99,163.83, estimate number 2 for $748.80 and estimate number 3 for $20,688.30 from Grama Construction Services. "These expenses are 95% reimbursable and will be paid for from the Marcellus Shale legacy fund," the clerk said. Chair moved to approve the consent agenda and the motion carried with the board voting in favor.
A commissioner recorded an "aye with abstentions" noting abstentions on payments to Hollidaysburg Borough and Blair Senior Services during the consent vote. The board did not expand on the reasons for those abstentions during the meeting. The approved consent agenda also included budget transfers to cover employee background checks and other routine items.
