District outlines plan to shrink school nutrition deficit; aims to cut general-fund transfer to $200,000

"Our nutrition services program... continues to strive to reduce historical deficit in this program," Andrews said, adding the district is "on pace to cut the deficit in 0.5 within 2 years." The committee discussed participation rates, federal programs and the district's plan to reapply for the community eligibility program to help contain costs.
