Mendocino CSD announces two resignations; board opens 15-day application window for replacements

Shepherd said the remaining directors will begin a public-notice process to invite letters of interest and that the district will keep the notice open for the required period (about 15 days) before making appointments to fill the unexpired terms. "People are free to submit a letter of interest," she said, urging residents who live inside district boundaries to apply or to refer qualified candidates.
The board noted practical concerns: with only three members seated the quorum carries operational limits if a director is absent. Shepherd said the board will prioritize recruiting volunteers who can commit the necessary time and will revisit committee assignments after new appointees are seated or at a February check-in.
The board did not take a formal vote on appointments at the meeting; Shepherd described the steps the board will take to solicit candidates and to complete the seats in time to align with election cycles.
