Staff member Samantha (S5) told the committee the budget includes phased funding for irrigation upgrades and for maintenance equipment. "The budget was adopted, and we funded the 1st 0.5 of irrigation, repairs in this current fiscal year and the 2nd 0.5 in the following fiscal year," Samantha said. She also said about $200,000 is committed to new maintenance equipment for the course.
Samantha described a procurement timeline: staff will develop an RFP (30–60 days depending on workload), the RFP will typically be open about 30 days, and the selected consultant could begin design work around December or January. "We're looking at starting to design as my guess is December or January," Samantha said. The committee agreed to form an ad hoc 'Irrigation and Greens' subcommittee to work with staff during the RFP and design phases; the motion to create the subcommittee passed by voice vote.
