Ector ISD board cancels May 3 election, declares unopposed candidates elected

The Ector Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to cancel the May 3, 2025 school board election after the superintendent certified that the candidates were unopposed. The board recorded the motion to cancel was made by Board member Vicki Bellows and seconded by Board member Cody Vest; the motion carried 5–0 with two members absent (Shane Ball and Jordan Sells).
The board's action directs that each unopposed candidate be declared duly elected, issued a certificate of election and sworn into office.
